About
Welcome to SoccerSource.org a site built to allow parents, players and coaches to communicate and learn about the great game of soccer.
I am a soccer coach and fan and plan to use the site to share my musings about the state of soccer and all of the facets of the game. There will be articles about nutrition, tactics, training, motivation and psychology. My goal is to allow the parents, players and fellow coaches learn about my soccer philosophy as well as share their opinions.
I played soccer competitively and in High School before joining the U.S. Navy. Following the Navy I obtained a B.S. in Business in Administration from the University of California Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. I began coaching soccer, because at the age of six, my daughter had a coach who didn’t play her more than 6-10 minutes a game because she wasn’t placed on the team until partway through the season. We’d moved into the area too late and had to put her on the wait list. I was appalled and amazed that someone would be so out of touch and allowed to coach soccer. I figured the way to ensure that other kids didn’t go through that type of experience was to coach myself. I remember my time as a player and the love I had for the game and I was going to do what I could to bring the love for the game to the kids. I’ve had great parents and great kids. The players learn the game of soccer (the parent’s learn a little too), what it means to be a good team mate, and what it takes to be the best they can be.
Over the years I’ve accumulated a few licenses and diplomas to ensure that my coaching can keep pace with the girls development. I currently hold the following diplomas and licenses and will be getting more in the future:
1) NSCAA Junior Level IV, V Diplomas
2) NSCAA Youth Level II Diploma
3) NSCAA Goalkeeping Level I and II
4) CYSA F & E License
5) USSF Grade 8 Referee License
