FC Gold Pride drops Brandi Chastain

Brandi Chastain was released by the FC Gold Pride and is likely to retire based on her comments. Women soccer players make little, basically minimum wage, and to make a move at this point in her life would be surprising. I’m sure she will stay involved in soccer and, as a father and coach, I thank her for making soccer such a popular sport for girls and women. Last year, our team held a party to watch “Dare to Dream“, a documentary about women’s soccer. The evening was wonderful and our room full of 8-11 year old players were captivated by the documentary.
