U12 Wildcats lose a ferocious battle to the Chivas

2

The Wildcats played a superb game and lost to Chivas 3-2. With a 1-0 first half it was a battle of wills throughout the game. The Wildcats defense was phenomenal this weekend and learned their lessons well from the practices during the week. The Chivas defense put up a great fight too and our forwards just couldn’t seem to finish, even though they had thrown a barrage of shots at the various Chivas goalies.  Unfortunately our lead striker, Cheyenne, went down with a knee injury and we couldn’t seem to get the chemistry back amongst the forwards to get the ball in the goal. Cheyenne is ok and we hope to see her back next game. She is a tremendous leader and can rally her teammates with her “lead by example” play.

Once again all of the girls played with tremendous heart in a very physical game against a very talented team. We are proud of you, your effort, and seeing everyone take the lessons of the week and put them into effect in the game.

Things to work on this week:

  1. Shooting
  2. Dribbling
  3. Passing to space/through passes
  4. Forwards making effective runs into space

We need to work as a team. We as parents need to let our kids know that soccer’s a team’s game & in order to win we have to play as a team. I know I know me & my big mouth again, lol, but I know the capacity of our team & wants the girls to get what they deserve & that IS THE CHAMPIONSHIP. So girls as a proud parent of Rebecca I say, “Together we can do it & Bladium, the Wildcats are coming!!!!”.

ps Happy St Patrick’s day everyone.
